This is a fantastic nonprofit that helps the community in so many ways. The River Refuge touches the local community with grace bags of food weekly, hand delivered to home in the areas that need it most. The River Refuge has an amazing after-school and summer program that invests in students lives by giving them tutoring, trips, instrument and singing lessons, sports and mentoring by their leadership. The leaders are wonderful men and women of God that truly believe in their mission and invest their heart, soul and time into making this one of the most impactful missions I have seen touch the lives of children in our community.
Honorable State Senator

It is my honor to write this letler in support of the Malachi Projcct and the River Refuge, These two programs are led by Pastor Terrell Scott, a godly man with a passion for helping the youth of McDonough, Georgia.
As a resident and senator of McDonough, Georgia, I have witnessed first-hand the detrimental effects of drug abuse and rising crime in our area. The Malachi Project and the River Refuge has served as a beacon of hope for the youth by providing them with tools to be successful. Each young person who participates in the program experiences Bible study, living skills, recreational activities, and mentoring.
A program such as the Malachi Project and the River Refuge save the youth of McDonough from the grips of crime that surrounds them. This program cultivates children into successful adulls, and the community has improved as a result of its existence.

I write this letter in support of Pastor Terrell Scott and the Malachi Project. Having worked with Pastor Scott on "The Christmas in the City" I have seen his heart to serve and to reach the young people of McDonough Georgia. The Malichi House is a 6,000 sf Community Center being built in the heart of McDonough to house an after school program to mentor, feed, and grow children that have few opportunities. As the city grows so do the cracks that many of these children fall through were it not for the hard work and dedication of groups like the Malachi Project.
Pastor Scott has received much support from partners in the community, but much work is still to be done to complete the Malichi House and to keep it operating. I invite you to be a part of this great work that is serving a vital need in McDonough. Having lived and worked in McDonough now for 18 years, I am thankful for Pastor Terrell Scott, and happy to support the
work he is doing in MY community. Please consider how you can help this great work!

What great work The River Refuge does in the community. I am so happy to have the opportunity to support this much needed organization for our community I highly recommend and support this organization,. I am so proud of the work they do!
Honorable Commissioner Johnny Wilson
This community has been negatively influenced by drug dealers and drug use for many years. In recent years, there have been positive and miraculous changes in this community and its youth through The Malachi Project. The Malachi Project is an after-school program that includes Bible study, practical living skills, recreation, and mentoring. The impact and influence of this program have been amazing and extremely needed; there is not a similar resource in our county like this. I support The Malachi Project and want to see it grow to reach more students and their families.
Honorable State Representative
El-Mahdi Holly
I am honored to provide a letter of support in favor of the River Refuge and The Malachi Project. A blessing to our local community, The River Refuge and The Malachi Project both share a common passion in their unique mission to meet the needs of resource-challenged families throughout metropolitan Henry County. During a personal visit, I remember the coordinated effort among staff to follow lesson plans, instructing students on key life lessons, and identifying core areas of development for their pupils to master. Group presentations with guests and testimonials provided openly by peer group members helped to broaden the inclusive spirit of togetherness felt by all.The community has warmly embraced the efforts by Pastor Terrell Scott and his dedicated staff of the River Refuge/Malachi Project to offer supplemental education activities, healthy meals and strong stewardship unknown by many at-risk children within the surrounding McDonough neighborhood.
I fully support the efforts to raise the quality of life standard for area at-risk children. Strong social programs, like those provided by our friends at the River Refuge and The Malachi Project, are shining their ample inner light on the bright faces of tomorrow.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to express my support of the “Malachi Project,” a program of the River of Refuge organization, under the leadership of Pastor Terrell Scott.
As an educator who has worked in our local public school system since 2003, I can attest to the value that the program has for its participants. I was fortunate enough to be able to observe the volunteers working with the young people on their school homework, ensuring that they both completed it AND understood it. The participants in the program come from an economically disadvantaged area in our community, where a stable and nurturing home environment that supports academic excellence is frequently absent, often due to single parents working multiple jobs to keep a roof over their family ‘s head. This program ensures that each child has access to a caring adult who can provide that support that is so vital to their academic success.
As a former business owner and manager, I can attest to the value of the program for workforce development in our community. In a time where many young people are glued to their electronic devices, Malachi participants are learning to forge interpersonal relationships work with others to accomplish goals and achieve successes together. These skills will pay off for them later as they can build on them to develop those strong soft skills that employers value.

Love love the River Refuge and everything they do in the community. I have volunteered and can attest to the great work they do to pour into the next generation. I highly recommend the Malachi Project After School Program and it is definitely an asset in our community!
Honorable State Senator

I write this letter as a supporter and advocate for The Malachi Project. The Malachi Project has an incredible dedication to address the many needs of children being raised in unfavorable environments. The Malachi Project truly improves the lives of children through so many different avenues, from education to mentoring to spiritual support and so much more. Our children are our most important asset, they are our future. We must cherish and provide for them, allowing them to flourish. The Malachi Project does just that.
The Malachi Project focuses on something vital for all:education. These children that they work with are often coming from backgrounds filled with abandonment, insecurity, loneliness, neglect, abuse, and more. But the Malachi Project still continues to provide these children stability through mentorship, enjoyable afterschool programs and more. No child will be left behind as the Malachi Project helps them develop skills for literacy and other necessary skills for success.
This ministry, their pastor and the volunteers care about these children from the bottom of their hearts. I am so proud to endorse their work and help them as they continue to provide for these students and help break the detrimental cycle of illiteracy.
Honorable Sabriya Hill
Henry County Clerk of Superior Court
I have the esteem privilege to write this letter in support of Pastor Terrell Scott, the Malachi Project, and the River Refuge Organization. As a former law enforcement professional for over twenty years, I have a profound level of respect for the efforts that are being made through programs that provide young children with an opportunity to choose success over drugs and crime. There is no doubt that our community has been negatively affected by an increase in crime over the years. The Malachi Project brings our youth together and provides a chance for them to break through barriers, culivating a place where all are welcome, and taught valuable lessons in life.
As the Clerk of Superior Court, I see the need for programs such as the Malachi Project. Helping our youth in the community helps to limit unfavorable exposures to the judicial system. Pastor Terrell has reached out to several Judges ,the District Attorney, and me to invite us to shed light on our roles at the courthouse.
While the organization solicits financial help and collaboration of the community, securing a grant would provide needed financial resources and extend many needed services. It is my sincere hope that financial support will be offered to continue these great efforts.
