About Us

Our Mission

The River Refuge is designed to provide families, children and individuals, who are in need, education both in spiritual matters as well as in life skills.  It is the endeavor of this organization to see families stay together, grow to be self-sustaining, and contribute back to society

The River Refuge International, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) community development organization,

was founded by Terrell E. Scott III.

The River Refuge organically started in Pastor Terrell’s living room, serving the children in the neighborhood. It started with a child coming to the door for a band aid to helping with homework and feeding them a snack. The bonds formed with the neighborhood children helped make a great impact with their families.

Love in Action

The River Refuge is committed to evangelism and discipleship. For many years we have been a consistent presence in the community, sharing the love of Christ and connecting with people in meaningful ways.

The heartbeat of this mission is to bring light to the dark neighborhoods in our community.  It is our deep desire to reach the less fortunate in our community. Through our outreach efforts, we have made a significant impact on the children and families of the McDonough Housing Authority and surrounding area.  We help by providing basic necessities and loving on them.

Over the years, we have seen high level impact on the children and the families.  We have four distinct connect points.  They are Homeless Care Kits, Back 2 School Bash, Redemption Boxes and Christmas in the City.

Love in action has the power to make a real difference in the lives of those around us.

"He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me." - Matthew 25:45

Our Vision

Our vision is to see the next generation transformed for the glory of God, to impact them in such a way that it transforms their families and community and break the power of generational curses and poverty.
